x2yMorph is a sophisticated image morphing application designed for iPhone and iPod Touch platforms, offering a range of features tailored to create seamless transformations between images. The process begins with the user selecting a start and an end image from their photo albums, allowing for zooming and focusing on areas of interest such as facial features. Users then define corresponding control points on both images—such as aligning the centers of the eyes—to guide the morphing process. After establishing several control points, the application computes and displays an intermediate image representing a transitional state, which can be adjusted along a slider to observe different stages of transformation. Additionally, x2yMorph provides an animated "movie loop" feature, illustrating a gradual metamorphosis from the start to the end image.

While the primary use case involves face-to-face morphing, the software's versatility extends to other subject matters, including animals or abstract geometric patterns. Creative users can experiment with artistic images, placing control points in novel arrangements for unique visual effects.

x2yMorph incorporates several distinctive functionalities that enhance usability and precision. One notable feature is its multiformat display mode, which simultaneously presents the start, end, and morphed images, facilitating easier placement of control points and real-time assessment of results. Recognizing that this mode reduces individual image size, a magnifying glass tool is integrated to allow detailed point placement at native resolution. To aid in correlating points across images, color-coded markers distinguish corresponding control points on each image.

The application offers multiple viewing modes beyond the interactive slider-controlled morph. Users can visualize the transformation as a continuous movie loop within either the multiformat layout or a zoomed-in full-size single-image view. When saving projects, x2yMorph generates several output formats: an internal project file, sequences of morphed images stored directly in the device's photo album, and a specially formatted 640x640 multiformat image incorporating visual representations of control points and transformation data. This latter format facilitates sharing with other users or external applications through third-party upload tools capable of maintaining original quality without resizing.

Furthermore, morphs can be exported as video files, enabling easy viewing and sharing via email or other transfer methods. Support within the app is accessible at any time; tapping the "?" button launches a tutorial to assist users, with subsequent taps returning to their previous work context.
